John Martyn played a very relaxed and entertaining gig at the Castle on Saturday night. Unanimous agreement amongst all present that the drummer was excellent! Although I normally dislike the use of drum machines I must concede that John Martyn make very clever use of this device. Many who attended this show although satisfied with his performance felt that the £4 admission price was a little stiff. My only complaint about John Martyn is that he made such a quick exit it was impossible to get an interview which was for me disappointing to say the least.
