The Bottom Line:
Unknown version of Big Muff, recorded June 1992 at Bottom Line, New York
"Compiled by Ralph McTell & David Suff, following an original Blueprint by Danny Thompson."
Record was meant as a benefit album for welcoming the twin daughters of Georgia, daughter of the late Sandy Denny, to the world.
Announcement:
Limited edition CD
On April 29 Georgia Denny (daughter of Sandy Denny and Trevor Lucas) gave birth to beautiful twin daughters in Australia. Danny Thompson suggested that a compilation record could be put together to welcome them to the world. A few telephone calls later the project had snowballed. The great and the good of UK folk-rock are donating an extraordinary collection of exclusive, rare and live performances.
The CD booklet carries some sort of personal sleevenote
Dear Georgia
Among the hundreds of phonecalls between me and Sandy, two stand out in my mind.
The first was to tell me she was pregnant. It was late at night -as was her wont- and I was dealing with two fractious children, so I'm not sure if I congratulated her or not. The second was when she called to say the baby had arrived, and did I mind her having the same middle name as my daughter.
I went to the hospital the next day, Sandy was in a beautiful room - she knew how to live. It was the first private hospital room I'd ever seen. We talked for a long time, then I went to peer through the glass at Georgia Rose, who was in the special baby unit - born premature, as I recall.
I saw you often before Sandy died. Sadly, I haven't seen you for years now.
So Georgia, this is our little gift to Ariel Rose, Jahmira Jade and of course, to you.
Love always, Linda Kenis
