John Martyn leaving England

A European scoop: John Martyn, one of England's most talented guitar players, is preparing to live permanently in the United States. He thinks his native country has become too small and narrow-minded and besides he can't find enough work recently. Also the rainy climate is starting to get on his nerves.

In America Martyn wants to go living on the west coast during winters (northern California) and in the summer time on the east coast (New England).

He remains under contract with Island. For this company he made about six magnificent albums in the past years, among which Solid Air and Inside Out. Together with his wife Beverley he delivered the albums The Road to Ruin and Stormbringer.

In a few weeks a new Martyn album1 is going to be released. This is going to be called either Dog Roses or Blue Bells Formerly Burned Wood.2 Beverley features in a few tracks on this album.3 Martyn did the production himself.

Beverley Martyn is going to release her first solo-album shortly.4
