Scotland doesn't seem to have spawned a flood of pop music artists known in the United States. But Glasgow, in particular, has been the birthplace of a few notable acts, and this week we will focus on two of them.

Sunday's Child was produced at Island Studios in London by Martyn, who also composed all of the songs, including titles such as One Day Without You, Lay It All Down and the title cut.
British singer comes up with odd blend of folk and rock which should appeal to the hard core of fans he has captured over the past few years.
Martyn mumbled his way through most of his songs, which is typical of him and which made absolutely no difference in his performance.

◼ LOS ANGELES – Island recording artist John Martyn has embarked on his fourth cross country tour of the United States,1 coinciding with release this week of his second Island album,2 Sunday's Child.
English guitarist John Martyn preceded Sebastian with his solo act. It was only his third stop on a six-week tour, according to his manager Rob Winn.
The whole affair actually began, to my sudden surprise, at 7:30 pm Sunday when John Martyn stepped on stage.
