THE Sub Club has a reputation for attracting the city's trendiest disco-goers, so it comes as a bit of a surprise to hear that crumbly rock star John Martyn will be appearing there.

Seemingly, Martyn wanted a lowkey venue where he could warm up for a major British tour, and thought the Sub was ideal.

He's appearing there on November 30 an December 1 and tickets are on sale now from FOP, Virgin and The Other Record Shop.

Meanwhile Huey Lewis and The News are in concert at SECC tomorrow night as part of their British tour.
