Brief TV appearances in Scottish series of 30 minute films. "Musicians Aly Bain from Shetland and Jay Ungar from New York are joined by top country singers, musicians and songwriters from Scotland, Ireland and Norht America." The series was a Pelicula Films production for BBC Scotland, "filmed on the Atlantic Coast of Scotland" at the Montgreenan Mansion House Hotel, Kilwinning, Ayrshire.

John is guest in a Scottish BBC2 show hosted by Loudon Wainwright III. He performs Big Muff turning into Hurt In Your Heart with unchanged rhythm. John on electric guitar, John Giblin on acoustic bass guitar, at the Old Fruit Market, Glasgow.

Part of a series of selected highlights from The Garden Party transmitted during the summer of 1990. John performs Deny This Love and also Send Me One Line which was not transmitted before.

John apparently participated in the final episode of the Spanish youth magazine Sigue Sigue Plastic.
It was broadcast the 19th March 1991. John plays Send Me One Line with the band from The Apprentice Tour. The track lasts 3 minutes and partly plays during the final credits.
We see a young Spencer Cozens on keyboards, probably Alan Thomson on bass, probably Miles Bould on drums and also a saxophone player.

Push The Boat Out was a series hosted by Aly Bain and filmed during Glasgow's Mayfest in 1990, during Glasgow's 1990 period as European City Of Culture. The series, shown on BBC Television in 1991, was set aboard a floating venue: the Renfrew Ferries.
